Food Poverty Geography Game

Monday, June 9th, 2008 by Paul Goodison

Just had an email forwarded to me from one of our customers (sorry haven’t got a name) pointing us towards the Free Poverty site, where they are donating water via a great geography based game. Its a great test of you knowledge. Considering I’m an E-Commerce manager I thought my score of 246 wasn’t too bad. Let me know what you managed to score and the top one above 246 (you’ll need to show the badge somewhere) can have a moleskin diary!

Thanks to Lucy in our Reservations department for sending it on!

Update: I’ve managed to score 285 - - just a bit off on Pacific islands unfortunately!

Upgrading

Thursday, December 6th, 2007 by Paul Goodison

Well I’ve just had a quick tinker with the Exploreblogs site to upgrade the version of Wordpress we are using and the Podpress plugin too (that’s the bit that sorts out the audio / podcasting bit for us).

We’ve got quite a few podcasts to put up, so hopefully I’ll get down to that this week.

By the way if you do notice anything is broken, do let me know!

Its all changed!

Thursday, June 21st, 2007 by Paul Goodison

Well, you might have noticed we have a new website at www.explore.co.uk. Its taken a lot of very hard work to get it to this stage but hopefully now its in a good shape to go forward and deliver some of the functionality people have said that they want and which we want to deliver.

Unfortunately its not all gone to plan, and hence a lack of updates here. Hopefully things are settling down somewhat now and we can get on with a few more stories and podcasts in the near future.

As always if you want to send me any feedback on anything, please feel free to leave a comment or send an email.

Do you like the new header?

Thursday, March 8th, 2007 by Paul Goodison

We thought we needed some of our classic images in the header so, we got our friend, Danny Wilkins, to put something together that shows a little bit of what we are all about.

What do you think?

Who are we?

Wednesday, January 31st, 2007 by Paul Goodison

At the top of Kilimanjaro

In case you don’t know Explore Worldwide Ltd is the UK’s leading Adventure Travel operator, operating tours around the world. We work by taking small groups (up to 24 maximum) on journey or itinerary based holidays, usually moving around an area within or across countries.

You can of course find out more on our website at www.explore.co.uk.

We also offer Adventure holidays for Families (they’re fantastic!), cycling holidays, walking and trekking holidays and specialist history tours not to mention short breaks and adventures beyond the beaten track.

Of course you could opt for two weeks on a beach but then that’s not really an adventure, is it?

Welcome to Explore Blogs

Wednesday, January 31st, 2007 by Paul Goodison

Welcome to this, Explore’s first blogging site where we hope to tell you a little more about Adventure travel.
Egypt, Pyramids and Camels
Our key aim is to let you get under the bonnet a little about how we go about our business as a tour operator and we’ll also include some podcasts - audios and even videos which show you what its like on our tours.

You can find out a little more about each author on the right hand side (together with all their posts) and we have also categorised posts into broad areas and also in case you need more info we also have some tags about what each individual post is about.

Phew! Hope that’s clear.

We also provide a blog roll, which links to people who we find have something interesting to say about Adventure travel.

Anything else not clear - leave me a comment and we’ll try and answer in a future comment.

And the name - well its simple and has a double meaning in terms of its where our blogs are and we are blogging. (Okay its not that clever but we’re trying!).
